Ayli is originally from Australia and now calls Japan her second home. Her initial plan of a 1-year hiatus experiencing expat life in Japan in 2010 turned into a much longer journey than expected. After 2 years frolicking the beaches of Miyakojima in Okinawa Prefecture, she found herself delighting in the life and flavours of Fukuoka for almost 4 years. True to nomadic form, she yielded to an inner calling to move once again, and now resides in ever-entertaining Tokyo. Her current day job as a professional editor advising researchers of non-English-speaking backgrounds supports not only her outrageous rent and love for good food, it also funds her escapades domestically and abroad so that she can explore her boundaries.
