Meet Ali Diaper
Head of Travel Marketing, ANZ
I was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. As soon as I graduated university I packed a backpack and an SLR camera and bought a round the world ticket. My first stop was Africa, then I crossed Europe from Turkey to the UK. In 1998 I cashed in the return ticket and based myself in London – like most expats. I started my career at EMI Music Publishing in London, returned to Australia via Canada, America and Mexico and ironically got work at the BBC. In 2005, I moved from the television industry to outdoor media before finding a home here at World Nomads in 2013.
In my role I manage the marketing for both the direct brands and the partnership brands in Australia and New Zealand. In 2017, I was stoked to be nominated for the Women in Travel Power List and I keenly support the travel industry having sat on judging panels for the Australian Travel Awards 2018 and 2019 and The Women in Travel Awards 2019.
Whether it’s climbing up Mount Sinai or Machu Pichu on foot, or coming down Mount Niseko or Blackcomb on skis, I travel to explore, learn and laugh.
