Meet Dave O'Malley
Business Develop Manager
I was born and raised in Lancashire, England and settled in Birmingham in 2011. I joined World Nomads in 2017 and I am responsible for partnerships and business development across Europe. My role is to support our affiliate partners to educate travelers on the importance of travel insurance and make some money in the process. I spend a lot of time on conference calls and attending industry events; every day brings new faces, new challenges and opportunities for learning.
I am so lucky that I now get to travel to some amazing destinations as part of my job, but when I travel for leisure, I look for destinations where I can escape into the great outdoors and explore the natural world. I also love learning about history and different cultures.
I once went on a self-guided safari tour in Tanzania with some friends and were camping in the reserve. I woke up to hear lions circling our campsite making grunting noises. I realized our campfire had gone out, so I had to fetch more wood in my boxer shorts and was so scared I accidentally threw my torch into the fire causing a loud explosion. Fortunately, this scared off the lions and I was an accidental hero.
