What's not covered by travel insurance?
Unfortunately, travel insurance is not designed to cover everyting, including:
- Suicide
- Deaths as a result of drugs or alcohol
- If a pre-existing condition causes your death (unless otherwise stated in the policy)
- Any costs within your home country once your remains are returned to your next of kin

How your family or friend can get assistance if you die overseas.
It’s essential that your family or travel buddy get in contact with our Emergency Assistance team as soon as possible, so that our team can support them from the time you die until your remains have returned home.

- Your policy number
- Your location
- As many details as possible about the circumstances surrounding your death
So, leave a copy of your policy with your family or friend, just in case they need to use it.
