With flexible travel insurance that covers more than 200 activities, sports, and experiences, it’s no wonder expats keep turning to World Nomads for travel insurance for their overseas getaways and holiday breaks.
World Nomads was founded by, and is operated by, people who have lived and worked overseas. We know that one of the best things about being an expat is the opportunity to explore neighboring countries and places.
There are three main reasons expats keep coming back to World Nomads for their travel insurance:
1) Flexible travel insurance
We know it’s not easy finding travel insurance when you’re not living in your home country, so have designed our travel insurance to be flexible, so you can purchase it for as long, or as little, as you need.
2) Accessible online travel insurance even after you’ve left home
Our travel insurance is available to most nationalities living or travelling outside of their Country of Residence. You can purchase online using a credit card as you don’t have to be in your country of residence to purchase it; however there are some exceptions to this, so please check the policy before purchasing.
3) Many of the essentials you may need, and more.
World Nomads designed its travel insurance around what our travellers most often claim for and tell us they want. In addition we cover more than 200 activities, sports, and experiences.
World Nomads can offer benefits for medical issues related to Coronavirus (COVID-19). If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 while overseas and it’s not considered an ‘existing medical condition’ under our policy, your benefits may include:
In addition, our Explorer Plan also has a Coronavirus Travel Costs benefit for certain events. You can check out our Coronavirus cover article which has all of the details, including benefit limits and exclusions.
There may be specific terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions that apply depending on what you'll be doing. Of course, always read the full terms, conditions limitations and exclusions in the plan you choose so there’ll be no surprises if you need to use it. If you are unsure of your level of travel cover, please contact us for help.

Expats must be aware this is travel insurance not health insurance.
This means it will not cover you for ongoing medical care. It also excludes many existing medical conditions as well as any medical treatment that is not considered necessary by our medical specialists. If you’re not sure if you’ll be covered for something, contact us and we can help.
