You’ve got a one way ticket in your back pocket and plans for a great new job, life or adventure… but you’re not covered for the trip to get you there. That’s where World Nomads’ Single Trip Travel Insurance may cover the gap between your old life.

Start your future on a high note

World Nomads offers single trip travel insurance to cover you and your personal items for as long as you need us to, whether it be a few days, a few weeks or even months, before you get to where you’re going. However, you should be aware that policy cover may vary depending on your Country of Residence and the plan you have chosen.

We offer Standard or Explorer options with differing cover. It’s up to you to consider your requirements and match them up with the right cover for your needs.

Single Trip cover

All World Nomads policies cover those events our travelers most often encounter including:

  • Overseas medical
  • Cancellation
  • Hospitalization due to a severe injury or illness
  • A flight is delayed or canceled
  • If your bags and valuables are delayed, stolen or damaged
  • 24/7 Worldwide Emergency Assistance
  • If you need cover for a multi-destination trip
  • If you’re travelling with family and need cover for dependants
  • Cover for some Coronavirus-related events

We cover more than 150 activities, sports and experiences depending on the policy you choose and if it’s not on the list, call us and we’ll let you know if we’ll cover it.

Exclusions

There are of course exclusions which apply. Some of the exclusions which may apply are:

  • Cancellation or other expenses if you change your mind and decide not to go.
  • You do anything illegal (You didn’t really think we’d cover that did you?)
  • Non-emergency treatment that can wait until you return home (it's not health insurance, it's for travel emergencies)
  • Certain pre-existing medical conditions

Note: don't forget to read the policy wording when you hit the quote button as all plans are different – don't just assume you are covered in every situation, as terms and conditions, benefit limits, and exclusions may apply.

What you should look out for when considering travel insurance:

  • Make sure you correctly choose the right trip dates, age limit, and level of cover.
  • Ensure all your destinations are covered.
  • Make sure you understand what a pre-existing medical condition is under our policies (coverage varies by country of residence).
  • Some activities and sports may require an extra level of cover or may not be covered.
  • Make sure you clearly understand the benefit limits and the excess as per the level of cover you've selected.
  • Understand that there will be General Exclusions in your cover for which you won't be covered under any circumstances.
  • Make copies of travel documents and keep receipts in case you need to make a claim.

Watch Anton's true claim story

I fell on my side and heard the sound of a dry stick breaking, I realized my leg was broken, then I just lay on the beach... The first phone call I got was from World Nomads and they basically told me, you don't worry about this Anton, just focus on getting better...and we'll take care of the rest.

Kidney Stone in Bali

On Saturday 9 August 2014 I incurred acute pain and vomiting all night long. I went to Siloam Hospitals Bali due to the acute pain and non-eating. I was hospitalised immediately. X-rays and ultrasound found a kidney stone and infection. I was hospitalised for 5-6 days where I was medicated and had tests accordingly. I had a procedure to break up the kidney stone as it would not dislodge. I was released from hospital to convalesce at home
