British Airways (BA) have notified travelers there will be significant delays and cancelations impacting flights on September 9, 10 and 27, 2019 due to industrial action.

They have also provided some FAQs on the strike with helpful suggestions for travelers booked to fly with BA.

I’m heading on holidays and flying with BA on those dates -  what does this mean for me?

As this event is now anticipated, there is no cover for claims arising from this strike action for policies purchased after 00.01 GMT on 26th August 2019

If we’ve issued your Certificate of Insurance before this time and you’ve purchased the Explorer Plan, you may be able to claim for missed connection. For more information please check your policy.

In the event of a claim covered by your policy, you must do everything you can to minimise and reduce the cost of the claim and provide all supporting documentation of the event and expenses incurred.

If you intend to submit a claim, please complete the claim form and if you need help doing this, contact us.

What should I do now?

In the first instance, if you think your travel plans might be affected you should first:

  1. Contact your airline, cruise or tour operator to check if tourist services are affected.

  2. If you need to change your travel arrangements, contact your airline, cruise company or travel agent for assistance in the first instance.
