Do students need travel insurance?
It’s a good idea for students to consider travel insurance for their trips or study abroad programs, as plans offer coverage for unexpected, emergency scenarios while overseas.

Can I buy a travel insurance plan if I'm already studying abroad?
Yes, you can be traveling anywhere in the world and still buy a plan. You can purchase it for any duration you choose (from 1 day up to 180 days for single-trip plans, or 45 days-per trip for an Annual Plan). Check the plan wording for details on when coverage begins and ends.

If the airlines lose my gear, am I covered?
Yes, World Nomads travel insurance may provide coverage for lost or stolen baggage. Exclusions apply. For more details click here.

What if I get sick while traveling?
If you’re injured or get sick while you’re traveling, and you’ve bought the plan for the activities you’re doing, you may be covered for: hospitalization; out-patient treatment for medical emergencies; prescribed medicines, X-rays, and laboratory tests; and being brought home, if medically necessary. You’ll also have access to our 24/7 Emergency Assistance Team.

I went to the hospital because I felt a fever and upon further testing they found it to be dengue fever. They also found a infection in my liver which made the process of getting better take longer than usual. I stayed in the hospital for 8 days before I was discharged.
