Am I Covered if There’s a Travel Warning in Place Where I’m Going?

For information relating to policies purchased prior to October 23 2024, please check the Policy Wording provided with your purchase. You can contact us if you need this sent to you again. For plans purchased after October 23 2024, please see below.

Yes, are you are covered by your travel insurance plan if there is a travel warning in the place you are going. The only time you would not be eligible for coverage is if you went to a country sanctioned by the US government and we were forbidden from helping you there. For more information on that, including a recent list of sanctioned countries, check out this Help Center article.

If the travel warning was due to civil unrest (for political or security reasons), we may be able to help you evacuate the region. Same with a natural disaster. However, in both cases, the event would have had to happen unexpectedly. It would have had to occur after you purchased your travel insurance policy, but before you left on your trip.

*All information we provided here is a brief summary. It does not include all terms, conditions, limitations, exclusions, and termination provisions of the plans described.
